Very friendly owner with amazing food and a nice cozy place to enjoy your meal. Feels as if you’re dining at home. Highly recommend!
Take 5 should not have been as big a part of my young adulthood as it was, and still continues to be. I've mostly lived in the neighourhood over the last 8 years and have frequented Take 5 during my time living nearby. It has a specialness that not even the hippest of cafe's can compete with. It's quiet, there's no music playing, you just hear the chatter of the regulars drinking their 5th refill. The donuts are fresh and their flavours are balanced perfectly. There's even something charming about their average tasting soup, and their sandwiches which feel like they came out of the best selling cookbook from 1985. Leon works tirelessly, and it shows in their service, food quality and atmosphere. He makes everyone feel welcome like they have a place to belong. There are times where I drive by at 11 PM, and he's sitting there talking with one of the locals. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Only a family could put this much care and love into what is made. Don't let the basic interior fool you. This place survives because of the quality of the product. Way better than Tim Horton's any day!
Great independent donut coffee shop. It’s well lit and clean but cozy. The staff is friendly and courteous. All pastries and donuts are made and baked on site and they are great. The crueller is awesome. Prices are reasonable. I really liked my visit and will definitely come back again.
Quaint coffee shop located in the Beverly area. I had the breakfast sandwich which was loaded with egg and pepper crusted bacon. Thw donuts are homemade as well.
Great service, wonderful food. Awesome price. I always stop in when I'm in the city.
Family run business means that the owners are directly involved & invested in Quality. They are incredibly hard-working & warm.
Amazing donuts. Have been twice in the last week since we discovered them. Their cream supreme is delicious. Nothing too fancy which makes them even better. Will be trying their breakfast and other food!
This place is an Edmonton institution and they produce my favorite donuts in the city. The donuts are fresh, just the right amount of sweet, and they have a wide variety of delicious options. This place has a warm, old-school vibe and has been around for many years. The service and the products are excellent. You've been to all the typical trendy areas in Edmonton, but have you had a donut and a coffee at 10 AM at Take 5? Love this place.
The best donuts!!! Their sandwiches are so delicious and I love that everything is fresh. My dad took me here once, and everyone was so friendly. Really just an overall homey place. 5/5 would recommend.
Step 1. Take 5 minutes to stop in. You'll notice a strong police presence in this establishment which speaks volumes about the quality of the donuts. Another plus is given the location you'll feel safe. The staff is patient and polite like a great family. Why does all this matter because the donuts are BY FAR THE BEST IN THE CITY. Selection alone will keep you busy for those 5 minutes trying to pick out what you want from the massive selection. Tims tastes artificial compared to this place. Treat yourself!!!
Pleasant and relaxing atmosphere....great food
Great donuts and people. However they are doing NOTHING right now in prevention that I saw. Employee not wearing masks. No visible sanitizing after customers at counter. Very disappointed they are not following any guidelines. I was wearing my mask and had sanitizer. Won't be going back.
For the life of me, I can’t understand why this place isn’t more on the public radar for a great donut. I understand the place is not the prettiest but they make great donuts and you should go have one, or a dozen, as their prices are very reasonable for a scratch donut. Let’s get them more business, as places like this are rare and we need more of them.
The BEST homemade donuts around, I HIGHLY recommend this place. We have been going here for almost 2 years and we don't go anywhere else now for our donut cravings.
The baked goods here are delicious. If I want good donuts and don't want to pay an arm and a leg, this is where I go.
This place has a fantastic vibe and even better donuts! I'm pretty sure the regulars never leave but I will drive across the city to support a place like this over and over again.
Doughnuts are always fresh and taste great. The staff are friendly and service is fast.
I can’t stop eating these amazing donuts!
The best donuts you will find. Baked fresh every day!! And they have the best homemade sandwiches and soup!
Friendly and delicious per usual
Great prompt service, diner coffee and real food that was just warmed up.
Came here at 9pm on a Saturday night for donuts ......all the way from the south side ;) Definitely a hidden gem here! Bought a dozen donuts for $16.75ish. The honey glazed is comparable to the krispy kreme's honey glazed/original. The other donuts are excellent too! Best donuts in the city!
Some of the best and freshest Donuts and coffee around! Nice quiet atmosphere and staff. Looking forward to going again.
Always loved this little coffee shop ❤ Beening coming here since I was a kid cant get enough of the donuts 😋
Leon and his family make everything fresh each day. Always a pleasure to enjoy the delicious offerings of this locally owned restaurant! It's a keeper.
Has some of the best donuts in town.
Some of the best donuts in edmonton! Fresh and fluffy with some unique flavors, like black forest, or banana filled. Im so glad to have found this little donut shop!
I absolutely love this place! Best Restaurant on 118 Ave. That I know of. Donuts are so fresh! It’s amazing.
Take 5 is the best. My kids love their donuts. The staff are always very friendly. Its great to have a place like take 5 in our neighbourhood.
This place reminds me of when I was young and my Nana would bring to tim Hortons.. before they sold out. The doughnuts are amazing.
This location reminds me of Robin's Donuts back in the 80s and 90s. The donuts are freshly made and they taste good. Even after two days old, they still taste good. A dozen donuts cost $13 and the price is not bad. This location doesnt sell just donuts. They have soups, sandwiches, muffins, turnovers and cesar salad. The staff is kind and friendly. I would come back soon.
Amazing donuts, great coffee, warm hospitality and service. I had the BLT sandwich and it was the perfect ratio of bacon, lettice and tomato!
Are you looking for a fresh doughnut and a good coffee? So you found the right place. The dough is very fluffy and light and it is not too sweet. 4 doughnuts, 1 coffee, 1 cookie and 1 chicken soup later l can affirm that l will be back soon. Friendly staff and very cheap price.
Amazing coffee and great food. It’s worth checking out.
Best donuts in the city! The sandwiches are great as well. I went based on a recommendation and now it is my go-to for a sweet treat
Took my family by this morning on a recommendation from a friend. We each ordered a donut and we're very impressed with the quality, freshness and flavor. The donuts a simple, not as extravagant as some of the donut specialty shops in town but the flavors were incredible and the donut itself soft and delicious. The price was also very reasonable at 8.50 a half dozen. Definitely worth paying a bit extra to get the bump in quality from say a Timmy's.
One of Edmonton's hidden gems for sure, the most amazing doughnuts and sandwiches!
Best donuts in all of edmonton, mabey even Alberta. They are so fresh that your fingers touch when you pick one up.
Great little place made a new friend ,called Fred
Had the best subs around but disappointing now 9$ for few pieces of shaved meat I don’t recommend
Great donuts. Friendly staff.
Hands down my favorite place to go for sandwiches, subs and goodies. They have the best fresh donuts you can buy. Family run, always excellent friendly service!
Really good donuts, especially the Apple Cinnamon. I'll definitely go back.
Me and my wife went for a quick snack and to our surprise it was very good, the coffee we had was excellent and the pastries we ate were super we will be back again thanks.
I checked out the donuts at Take 5 on the recommendation from a co-worker. The donuts are extremely tasty and have a great flavour. Not doughy or heavy at all. They are also quite reasonably priced ($8.50 for a half dozen) compared to other donut shops aside from Tim Horton's, but I'd rather a but more for a good quality donut. Too bad that there aren't more locations around though. We'll just have to make the stop when we're in the area, but it's definitely worth the trip!
I have been going to take 5 since I moved to Edmonton by far better donuts then Tim hortons and the atmosphere is very small town love it here
The best home made donuts I have ever eaten!!!!!!!!! Why would anyone go to Tim hortons when you have a place like this in town!!!!!! People get out and get here!!! I drive across town once every few days to get there donuts and coffee! The are soft and gewy and will melt in your mouth trust me if your reading this you need to go here and get some you will thank me and take five if you do.!!!!!
DONUTS!!! If you’re on 118 Ave you must stop for great Donuts, Sandwiches/Subs, soups and coffee. Add this to your go to lunch stop!!! Help support this local business and keep them thriving on 118 Ave!!!
Best Donuts in town. I used to work for Leon many moons ago and I can tell you that the donuts are freshly made every single day he put his heart and soul in to it and you can tell! My favorite was the black forest donut and the fritters!
